Manchester United legend Denis Law diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Vascular dementia
Denis Law is the latest legendary footballer to have been diagnosed with dementia, the Man United great has confirmed. Manchester United legend Denis Law is suffering from Alzheimer's and Vascular dementia, he has confirmed in a statement. Law, 81, scored 237 goals in 404 United appearances, winning the FA Cup and two league titles. The Scotland great also received the Ballon d'Or in 1964. The former striker is immortalised with a statue outside Old Trafford and one in the Stretford End, and was recently in attendance for United's 4-0 thrashing of Everton at the stadium. He also played 79 times for Manchester City in two stints, scoring 37 times for the Blues. In a statement released by Law's daughter, Di, the Scot said: "I am at the point where I feel I want to be open about my condition.
