Midfielder Paul Pogba suffered a thigh injury in France's first training session on Monday, meaning, according to reports in France, that could now be sidelined for up to ten weeks, Edinson Cavani has not linked up with the Uruguay squad because of a tendon injury and Luke Shaw will play no part in England's clash with Albania at Wembley this evening. Shaw went off for United against Manchester City last Saturday with a head injury and is still following medical advice, with strict rules concerning players who have suffered concussions. England boss Gareth Southgate remains unsure if Shaw will even be available for Monday's trip to San Marino, meaning Harry Maguire, currently, is the only United player available in the squad. Manchester United want to appoint a British coach as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's successor and are confident interest in Brendan Rodgers will be reciprocated. Manchester United are prepared to trigger a clause in Brendan Rodgers' contract to make him their next manager should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer be sacked. Solskjaer's future at Old Trafford is looking increasingly bleak following back-to-back home defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City, leaving the club nine points off the pace after just 11 games. The Norweigan still has backing at boardroom level, though Rodgers is top of the list of possible replacements as the club look to appoint a British successor.
