Six La Liga Clubs Are Currently Without Shirt Sponsors After Ban

Image
Six La Liga teams are set to start the season without a shirt sponsor after the league have implemented a new law that bans betting companies from being on the front of kits. Last October, the Spanish government announced that all betting sponsorships would be banned due to the awful impact this has on some of the most vulnerable people. This law has impacted some big clubs in La Liga including Granada, Real Sociedad, Alaves, RCD Mallorca, Cadiz and Levante which also means these teams are losing money as they have not found alternative sponsorship deals. During a period of time where so many clubs are suffering financially across Europe, this new law has caused clubs to think of alternative ways to increasing their revenue otherwise they are at risk of falling into further trouble. As indicated by The Athletic journalist Adam Crafton, there are suggestions that this will be arriving in English football soon with the Championship to be first affected The EFL wou...

However, the navy blue top immediately stands out for the fact that the club’s name is featured at the heart of the third kit in a light-blue font. The iconic Puma logo is now above the capitalised ‘Man City’ on the front, with sponsors Etihad Airways placed under the club’s name. According to City, the third kit is meant to reimagine the “traditional football kit in a brand-new approach [b...
